4 Things You Can Change Around the House

We understand the need to give your house a full makeover from time to time. After all, who wouldn’t want to get a fresh coat of paint on the walls, some new furniture, and of course, new lighting that would up the whole game of your house? However, sometimes, getting a full-blown update is not possible or practical. Resources are limited, and professional help is not always available.

But does that mean that you cannot make any changes around the house? Absolutely not! You do not have to spend weeks in dust or cause a dent in your bank account to jazz things up here and there. In fact, the smallest changes around the house can have a huge impact.

Here are some easy changes you can make around your home that won’t take too much physical energy or brainpower:

1.   Change the Door Knobs

Door knobs get used the most. Every member of the family will grab the doorknob (some not as gently as the others) and use it at least a couple of times during the day. Whether it is your front door, bedroom, or powder room, you can change the doorknob by making a quick run to the hardware store.

Choose something that adds a boost of color and matches the theme of your home. A doorknob should be uncomplicated and easy to use.

2.   Change Up the Lighting

We understand if you are sick of the same lighting in your home. Never underestimate how much of a difference good lighting can make.

Whether you want to add a table lamp on the living room console or throw in some soft white bulbs with dimmers in the kitchen, remember to be energy-efficient. There are loads of options in the market that will help conserve energy and cut down on electricity bills.

3.   Throw in a Bold Painting

There is nothing we love more than walking into a home and coming in contact with a beautiful, bold painting. Never underestimate how much a painting can change the look of your surroundings.

Whether you are looking to add in a splash of color on some bare walls or just accessorize the walls with some smaller paintings, make sure to match the theme of your home. Don’t be scared to get a little creative.

4.   Change the Curtains

When changing things around the house, you may notice how dirty your curtains have become over the past few years. After all, they may never have been cleaned ever since you last renovated (10 years ago?)

One of the best ways to change the appearance of your house is to switch out the curtain for something that matches your style better. You can opt for soft net curtains or heavy drapes, depending on the theme of your room. Don’t be afraid to let a little sunlight into your home in the process. There is absolutely nothing better than unfiltered light to brighten up a room.
