Best Ways to Get Moving on Lazy Days

Best Ways to Get Moving on Lazy Days

There are some days when you feel zero motivation to work out. In fact, the thought of moving starts to fill you up with dread as you hide under the covers. Maybe you don't feel too energetic or are simply just having a lazy day.

While having lazy days is completely natural, you need to throw in some form of physical activity into your day. Trust us; once you get moving, you will feel much better, physically and mentally.

Here are some of the best ways to get moving on lazy days:

1. Walk

Of course, walking is not the same as attending a Zumba class. However, a quick stroll around the block or a 2-kilometer walk in the park is a great way to move on a lazy day. It helps get the blood pumping in your body, making you feel more energetic and alert. If you feel super lazy, simply walk to the coffee shop in your neighborhood instead of taking the car. This will also help get your daily steps in!

You can also get some friends to walk with you. These friends can be your neighbors or your best friends. As long as you have some form of motivation to walk, you will be more likely to get moving. Use this time to get updates on your friend's love life or tell them about your new job.

2. Swim

Swimming can feel like a super intense workout that is only reserved for days you feel extremely energetic. However, you do not always have to work out when you get into the water. Start by getting your swimsuit on. This is the first step and may seem the hardest, but the rest will seem like a breeze once you get there.

Jump into the water with your kids or friends and play some fun water games. You will instantly feel more refreshed and energetic. Get your friends to play a round of water polo with you to get your heart racing. The best way to get moving on lazy days is to have some workout partners who will always motivate you to do something fun during the day.

3. Use an Elliptical

While running on the treadmill or in the park can seem like too much hard work, exercising on the elliptical is an easier and more convenient option. It does not require too much energy since it is a low-impact workout, and you will also start sweating instantly. After your workout, you are bound to feel more motivated and ready to face the rest of the day.

If you do not have an elliptical machine at home, go to your neighborhood gym and hop on one. If the machine has a holder, place your phone on it and watch your favorite show. Don't forget to plug in your headphones! You can also listen to some upbeat music to get you motivated.

Remember, once you get moving, your body will produce endorphins, making you feel happy all day long! If you make the most of these ways to get moving on lazy days, you'll find yourself fitter and happier.
